As well as being a recognised expert in his chosen field, Eric Knowles is a
well-known face in the world of antiques, particularly to viewers of the BBC's
Antiques Roadshow. He appears to be one of those rare individuals who is able
to share his considerable knowledge in a way that is exciting and easy to understand.
As well as presenting and appearing on radio and TV, he has written books on
subjects such as Victoriana, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Royal Memorabilia. Eric
has also lectured extensively in the UK at such renowned museums as the Victoria
and Albert and the British Museum as well as in the USA and Canada. He is a
patron of several charities and is an Ambassador for the Princes Trust.

Alan is a master cabinetmaker, furniture restorer and also has qualifications in building design and construction. He
taught joinery in the US and then returned to England to set up his own specialist joinery and furniture restoration
company. His company has since won numerous trade and new product design awards. He also designed and built his own
home.

and expertise have featured on Discovery Real Time’s successful series of, Narrow
boat, Restoration
Man, Barn Free and Challenge Tommy Walsh, to
name a few. Alan's
great strength is in the way he effortlessly connects with people particularly when joining them in a practical task or
activity.
