Behind the Scenes:
The plane was built in a large, purpose built wooden shed on the outskirts of Malvern in Worcestershire.

There was inevitably a huge amount of work to do in between filming days and this was done largely by the Workshop manager Nick Hayes, as well as other volunteers, including the Producer.

Filming days were most Fridays and inevitably each programme included film from more than one day in order to allow time, particularly for composite work, to cure properly between stages. Continuity was always a problem so we simply gave up after a while. We were fortunate in that Mark only seems to have one change of clothes otherwise the nightmare would have been more glaringly obvious.
