Presenters
Mark Evans and his restoration team
Mark Evans, 39, a former vet and TV presenter for over ten years, led
a seventeen-man team. All of them had a mountain of the knowledge, know-how
and up-for-it enterprise to tackle the rebuilding of machines as diverse
as a mid-engined Ferrari and a customised truck, a 70mph VW Beetle and
a 200mph Ford GT40.
Although still a practising vet, Mark is an acknowledged petrol-head
whose work for TV already encompasses building his own Supercar, a 200mph
two-seater private aircraft and a helicopter. He clearly loves working
on anything with power, speed, and guaranteed excitement. Even so, he
has also had time to write best-selling books on animal care, and his
TV work also includes DIY and household makeover subjects.
more
about Mark
Mark's team of mechanics includes Les Dale, Ian Graham, Adrian Gregory,
Tim Harrold, Russell lee, Mick Price and Paul Wilkins. Professionally
or privately, all have either rebuilt, restored or maintained cars and
motorcycles. All have a passion for the machines you see in the series,
all of them having at least one classic of their own.
Amanda Stretton
Although action-girl presenter Amanda Stretton looks as if a broken fingernail
would be a personal tragedy, and an oil-stained jumper a disaster, she
is no helpless girlie. She has been racing very fast cars since she was
19 years old.
Well-known to TV motorsport viewers, she has already presented a number
of TV motor sport series concerning Formula 3, GT, ALMS, Rallysprint and
the MGF one-make Championships. She has also taken part in the big, brash,
and definitely muscular ASCAR Mintex Cup series at Rockingham, becoming
the first-ever female driver to tackle those man-sized machines.
Already described as 'motor racing's glamorous successor to Murray Walker',
Amanda enjoys hosting this workshop-orientated series on the world of
classic motoring. Given time (and if the men would let her get involved)
she would have completed some of the restoration work herself.
