Presenter Mark Evans
Mark Evans is redefining the term DIY. A qualified vet, he describes himself as one of God's mechanics and is well known for his many network TV series about animal welfare. But it's not just biological machines that fascinate him.
He is passionate about practical engineering; a bit of a wood wizard; a keen gardener and an accomplished amateur builder. His biggest obsession is building and restoring machines including cars, motorbikes and aircraft. Most blokes have a shed - Mark has a 1500sq.ft. fully-equipped engineering workshop!
Since 1990 Mark has developed strong working relationships with the print and broadcast media and has now presented well over 400 hours of network television programmes.
Although Mark is well known as a trusted voice of authority on animal care / welfare matters, his other interests continue to receive attention from broadcasters and viewers.
Over the last few years, as well as hosting a variety of gardening and DIY shows for BBC1- including 'House Call' and 'Garden Invaders'; - Mark has fronted a raft of engineering-based workshop series for Discovery that have followed his exploits constructing various big boys toys, including a supercar, 200mph plane and executive helicopter.
He recently restored two classic motorbikes (1942 Harley and a 1970 Bonneville) and building a Mad Max style trike out of a VW Beetle for "A Bike is Born".
